To rename quickly file or folder in the Browser, set cursor to a file (folder) you want rename and press F2 or SHIFT+F6. This will open an inplace edit window around the selected file (folder).

To confirm renaming you must press ENTER. Otherwise press ESC or click outside the inplace edit window to cancel the operation.

To rename a large number of files by a fixed scheme, use the File Renamer.

Important note:
Don't use symbols \ / : * ? " < > | in a file (folder) name.
